Director of System Architecture

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, the Director is responsible for the overall System Architecture of all the company's products and services.

Duties Include:

  • This is a newly created position that will be responsible for defining and driving the architecture of the Company's current and future products and services
  • This role requires vision, leadership and influence, as well as deep and broad technology and subject matter expertise.
  • Will be responsible for creating and communicating a plan for the Company's system architecture supporting the long-term vision defined by the Company's CTO.
  • Will work with the VP of Product Management to ensure alignment with the Company's immediate and future product requirements.
  • Work closely with the Engineering software design and development teams to execute on the planned architecture and to bring it to market. This will include updating and evolving existing implementations towards the future.
  • Guide the engineering team through mentoring and continuous communication.
  • Provide leadership and demonstrate behavior that supports the company's culture, mission, and values
  • Acts as a good steward of company resources and ensure control of the departmental budget

  • 10+ years of experience defining Software System Architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Software System Architecture design in companies analogous in scope, scale, and complexity.
  • Expert level knowledge of Networking and Networking Products.
  • In-depth experience with IP Networks, IP Protocols, Routers, Gateways and other Networking Devices. Hands-on experience with network configurations.
  • Extensive experience with Network Security and Zero Trust Security Architectures. Deep knowledge of IP Security, VPNs and Firewalls.
  • Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) and SD-WAN.
  • Extensive experience with Service Oriented Cloud Architectures, SaaS and Network-as-a-Service Architectures.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change.
  • Proven in driving decisions which are fact based.

  • BS/MS in related field and at least 15 years of relevant experience
