At Houston Methodist, the Transporter position is responsible for transporting acute, intensive and critical care patients in a timely manner by wheelchair, transcart, stretcher or bed. This position supports the interprofessional team in delivering high quality patient care during transit. The Transporter position moves inpatients and outpatients to diagnostic testing and therapeutic areas, clinics, physician\'s offices, admissions and discharges throughout the complex. This position will assist with preventing patient falls by retrieving the Hover Mat/Jack, lifting and moving the patient to a stretcher and transporting the patient back to his/her room. The Transporter position must be able to communicate appropriately and work closely with nursing staff and co-workers. This position delivers patient room furnishings such as bed extensions, sleep chairs, and transports empty beds, as requested, as a backup duty when others are not available.

At Houston Methodist, the Food Services Assistant (FSA) position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the kitchen, patient tray line and/or retail areas such as assisting in tray assembly for patients, simple food preparation, serving customers and set up to include replenishing stations. This position transports food carts to and from kitchen areas to patient care units and/or conference rooms in a timely manner and will perform dishwashing duties, as assigned. The FSA position communicates with peers and management regarding identified hazards in the work place, following correct procedures in cleaning of equipment and sanitation of work areas, along with special cleaning as assigned. This position follows all departmental policies and procedures and complies with relevant local Food Ordinances.

This position accurately and efficiently completes transactions, provides receipts and makes change. The Cashier position is responsible for preparing a cashier\'s report and depositing revenues following established Cash Handling Procedures. This position also provides support and assists in other areas of the retail food operation including the food service areas, dining room and may operate relevant Food Services equipment. The Cashier position may be asked to assist in other food and nutition service areas, as needed

The incumbent may also be required to perform scheduling activities (this might include appointments, procedures, and/or surgeries), ensure medical necessity compliance, and verify eligibility for care. This position leads and coordinates interprofessional activities, focusing on clinical practice, consultation, education, and research, incorporating evidence into practice. The Lead NP/PA position conducts comprehensive assessments, identifying normal and abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on a defined patient population. This position uses expert communication skills to serve as patient and family advocate to educate, mentor and coach staff in clinical practice, assuming an advanced leadership role in analyzing systems to anticipate and or reduce risk and improve patient safety and quality. In addition to responsibilities which include contributions at the unit/department, with expectation to collaborate, manage, and lead system wide and national initiatives, this position functions as a clinical provider maintaining and promoting health of the patient requiring care. The Lead NP/PA position affects direct patient care according to the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Texas or the Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.

At Houston Methodist, the Sr Staff Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for functioning as an advanced clinician at the Proficient level according to Benner\'s model of clinical practice. The Sr Staff RN position provides professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population, which may include patients with varied and complex needs, and is considered an expert in a specialty. Besides conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment and maintenance of medical records, this position assists in coaching and mentoring department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice. Role modeling compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional health care team, the Sr Staff RN position assumes leadership responsibilities with high level contributions in the department and across the institution. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to leading department clinical activities, assessing department needs related to practice and improvement opportunities, serving as a clinical resource for department staff and coordinating department education in partnership with management.
