What You'll Get to Do:
CACI is looking for a Space Robotics Mechatronics Electrical Engineer to work with NASA at the Johnson Space Center to develop hardware and software for the NASA humanoid robot, Valkyrie. This electrical engineer may also apply these technologies to provide enhancements to other NASA projects ranging from lunar rovers to Intra-Vehicular Robots (IVR) for the maintenance of NASA's Gateway lunar space station.
Specifically, the most highly qualified candidate will apply experience in mechatronics to assist with the design, construction, and testing of NASA's next generation Valkyrie humanoid robot. The task includes firmware engineering, design of PCBs, electrical schematics, and wiring harnesses. Hands on experience with lab equipment and process (soldering, cable routing, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.) is highly desired. New designs will be supported from conception, analysis, and manufacturing, through operational test and deployment.
Eventual tasks may include digital system design, FPGA programming in VHDL, power electronics, and robotics controls.

Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and in the excitement of developing robotic systems for the next generation of robots.
