Our collaboration is focused on increasing access to care through a growing network of leading specialists and revolutionizing healthcare to save lives and improve the health of the communities we serve.Position Summary:Operates ultrasound equipment and Performs a variety of technical diagnostic procedures which encompass the specialty areas of Peripheral Vascular Imaging; Performs complete diagnostic test including positioning of the patient, calibration of equipment, and documentation of findings under the direct supervision of the supervisor or Non Invasive Cardiology ManagerResponsibilitiesPosition Responsibilities:
Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards
Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards
Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non‐routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests
Reviews the physician request to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent
Provide specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of the diagnostic test involvement and Provides patient education about the procedure
Obtain patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol
Perform physical assessment and tests according to specific departmental protocol
Position the patient for the examination according to specific departmental protocol
Select the specific equipment pre‐sets and modifies the settings to ensure that optimal image; Doppler and color Doppler information is obtained
Ensure that all recording equipment is operational
Complete the diagnostic examination according to specific departmental procedural protocols. Specific procedures each have defined protocols
Completes supporting documentation demographic and diagnostic information required for departmental, hospital and patient record documentation
Complete preliminary diagnostic reports and communicates with staff and physicians as needed to assure proper patient care
Other Responsibilities involving QA monitoring, new procedures, continuing education and students
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Education and Licensure:
Associate’s Degree health related program in a related medical field, which include seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound OR one year certificate; Registered by American Diagnostic
Registry for Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as RVT or RDCS ‐OR‐ Registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as RVS or RCS
