OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook/Cocinero to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a strong background in food truck settings. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to specifications, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards

- Assumes responsibility for quality of products served

- Handle food safely and hygienically in compliance with health regulations

- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period

- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts

- Support food service operations by plating dishes efficiently and accurately

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of meals during busy periods

- Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management as needed.

- Participate in meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed

- Practice proper food handling techniques at all times

- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related culinary roles within restaurants or the food industry

- Experience preparing and cooking tacos and related items is a plus.

- Proven experience with cooking on commercial flat tops and Blackstone griddles

- Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives, and cooking equipment.

- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures

- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

- Familiarity with food service operations including serving and food presentation techniques

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- At least 6 months of experience in similar capacity

PHYSICAL REQUUREMENTS

- Standing for up to 8 hours

- Ability to frequently kneel or bend

- Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations

- Move at a fast pace around the cooking area

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
