Duties and Responsibilities:
● Be aware of the client’s habits, interests, and any special needs, including any special supervision needs.
● Provide a safe environment.
● Positively reinforce the client’s efforts and accomplishments.
● Ensure continuity of care for the client by sharing with incoming caregivers information about each client’s activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written information or instructions given by the parent or other professionals.
● Implement and follow the client’s service plans.
● Maintain accurate documentation that is appropriately signed and dated.
● Know which client you are responsible for (via staff assignment sheet).
● Be aware of and accountable for each client’s ongoing activity.
● Provide the level of supervision necessary to ensure each client’s safety and well-being, including auditory and/or visual awareness of each client’s ongoing activity as appropriate.
● Be able to intervene when necessary to ensure each client’s safety.
● Interact directly with residents.
● Execute group, program, and recreational activities.
● Serve/prepare meals to each client according to the menu.
● Supervise residents at all times.
● Provide transportation to the residents for appointments as needed.
● Keep the Shift Supervisor informed of all observations.
● Provide crisis intervention for residents.
● Complete, sign, and date all daily progress notes and serious incidents for residents by the end of the daily shift.
● The ability to recognize risk factors, warning signs of suicide.
● Administer medication to residents according to the operation medication policy
