Scribe and Medical Assistant for Memorial area.
Full Time or Part Time (4 or 5 days a week)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical Scribe with excellent typing speed, high accuracy level and well rounded knowledge of medical terminology essential.
Responsible, energetic, very organized scribe/medical assistant needed for small Memorial area 'concierge-style' medical practice.
Minimum 2 years medical office/clinical experience.
Candidate must be able to multi task yet prioritize both front and back office duties as necessary.
Accompany the physician and facilitate his workflow, assist with patient care as well as accurately document the encounter in the electronic medical records.
The job will involve taking vital signs, obtaining medical history, verifying medications, documenting physician's exam as well as communicating follow up care instructions to patients.
May be required to draw and collect blood, urine or swab samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
May administer ordered medications via oral, injection, topically, rectal, and/or inhalant administration.
Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
Must be able to evaluate a patients needs and respond accordingly.
Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or digital means as directed by physician. Document patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by provider.
Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider.
Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
Must possess typing skills of at least 45 wpm

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or higher Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) 2 years Medical Assistant and Scribe experience required. Draw blood and administer injections. Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients. Demonstrated knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations. Must demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA requirements and basic IT security Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations. Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients. Good computer skills and solid experience using EMRs Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
