Veterinary Technician needed for busy 3 doctor veterinary hospital in West Houston. Great team dynamic and clinic culture!
Work Schedule: FULL TIME ONLY
Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm with 1 day off during the week.
2 Saturdays per month 8:45am-1pm
Must be available some Holidays.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Assisting Doctors:
Hold/Restrain animals for procedures.
Care for hospitalized and boarding patients.
Run laboratory tests.
Draw blood samples from dogs and cats.
Prepare surgery instruments daily.
Other tasks assigned by doctors.
Patient Care:
Care for hospitalized and boarding patients.
Administer medications.
Some bathing.
Clean kennels.
Exercise and feed animals here for hospitalization.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Maintain a clean work area at all times.
Unpacking deliveries daily.
Client Communication Duties:
Professional, helpful attitude while interacting with pet owners.
Knowledge of common diseases.
Knowledge of preventative health care recommendations.
Skills Needed:
Ability to lift patients or carry equipment up to 25 pounds; and over 25 pounds with assistance.
Ability and willingness to learn new tasks.
Effective communication and follow-through.
What to Expect after applying:
You will be called for an interview if we are interested. After initial interview, a working interview will be set up if we are further interested. Working interview will require your availability to observe in our hospital from 8:30am-12pm on a week day. After the working interview is completed, a hiring decision will be made.
Training Provided by our Head Technician and Hospital Manager, but previous experience is a must!
