Northwest Industrial company is seeking a CAD & Plasma Table Operator. This uses CAD/CAM equipment to support the sales team by preparing detailed drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams. Details include all views and dimensions necessary for plasma table operation. Makes proper calculations in compliance with established industry specifications and standards. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Engineering terminology. The Plasma Table Machine Operator performs all CAD/CAM design and plasma table machine operations to support the sales process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs and reproduce customer drawings
Creating and revising production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
Making final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
Sketching rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes
Utilizing knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings
Drafting detailed multiview drawings of products and machines
Drawing finished designs from sketches
Updating Drafting and Engineering Standards
Setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings
Communicating to Tooling, QA, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints
Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to management
Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations
Performing prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per manufacturer specifications
Being able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: grinding, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and all bench operations and inspecting. Welding abilities are a plus.
Inspecting raw materials before production and inspecting parts after production
Marking and stamping of parts per ASTM/ASME and customer specifications
Remaining familiar with the basic machine functions to perform the tasks stated above
Accepting and receiving frequent supervision and assistance concerning machine set-up
Performing quality control practices to ensure accuracy and parts and sales order fulfillment
Performing other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, etc. to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
High skill level in CAD software; skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office; familiarity of CAD/CAM equipment and the relationship of CAD to CAM
Ability to learn new graphic software to complement our sales and services offered
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, apply simple and semi-complicated math, and use handheld measuring tools
