ALL SEASON CERTIFIED SCUBA DIVER needed Full time available Monday through Friday daylight hours (may vary with seasons). The job requires that we remove algae & barnacles from boat bottoms in the Clear Lake area. Clear Lake is a small body of brackish salt & fresh water which is NOT CLEAR AT ALL. This lake is actually a brownish color and averages approximately 1 foot visibility. Our type of work requires only 6" to 8" to see the bottom we clean (IF YOU ARE A CLEAR WATER DIVER, THIS WORK IS NOT FOR YOU). Our objective is primarily extending the life of the bottom paint as well as adding fuel efficiency and performance, so quality service is very important. A dependable vehicle (with the exception of a motorcycle) is required to transport the provided tools such as small air compressor, hose, cleaning tools & extension cords. You must provide your own personal gear which includes regulator, mask, snorkel, booties, gloves and dive light. (Light, snorkel & fins are not mandatory, but may add to your speed and quality). Protective clothing is recommended for this time of year, during the winter months at least 7MM wetsuit with hood is mandatory, but a drysuit is preferred.
We scrub and scrape the marine growth by hand to preserve the bottom paint. The boats we service are privately owned yachts in exclusive marinas which demand respect while working in the facilities. Our company provides the owners of the boats a quarterly bottom cleaning at a fixed rate. The pay rate works the same, it is based on the length and type of yacht being serviced. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour. This is a 1099 Contractor position.
We understand this is a specialized service so learning time is allowed. However, we appreciate only serious divers apply, (Certified, Commercial Divers preferred, but not mandatory), all applicants must provide proof of certification and a valid driver's license.
