Position: Christmas Event Decorator
Location: Houston, TX
We are an experiential event company bringing the magic of the holidays to Houston for the first time this season. Our mission is to create immersive environments that evoke the joy and wonder of Christmas. We are looking for passionate and creative Decorators who thrive in bringing festive, visually stunning environments to life. Key Responsibilities:
Holiday Décor Installation: Design and install holiday-themed décor throughout the event space, including wreaths, garlands, Christmas trees, ornaments, and other festive elements to create an immersive, joyful atmosphere.
Theme Development: Collaborate with the creative and production teams to ensure all décor aligns with the event’s overall theme and vision. Be part of the brainstorming process to enhance visual storytelling through decorations.
Styling: Arrange and style decorative elements in a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing way that reflects the holiday spirit, including tablescapes, lighting accents, and thematic props.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all décor is securely placed, meets safety standards, and is well-maintained throughout the event's duration. Perform quality checks to ensure the décor looks fresh and festive each day.
Problem Solving: Make on-the-spot adjustments to décor installations as needed, ensuring the environment remains polished and festive even with last-minute changes.
Coordination: Work closely with set designers, light installers, and other team members to ensure a seamless and cohesive holiday environment.
Event Teardown: Assist with the removal and storage of decorations post-event, ensuring everything is carefully packed for reuse or properly disposed of if necessary.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in event décor, holiday decoration, or related fields such as interior design, visual merchandising, or event styling.
Creative Flair: Strong eye for design and detail, with the ability to create visually striking and cohesive holiday displays.
Passion for Christmas: A genuine love for the holiday season and creating festive environments that bring joy to others.
Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and handling multiple tasks at once.
Physical Stamina: Willingness to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (especially during the peak season), with the physical capability to lift, move, and install decorations.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and solve issues that may arise during the décor installation process.
Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other creative team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working on large-scale holiday events or themed experiences
Knowledge of safe installation practices for indoor and outdoor holiday decorations
Familiarity with design software or mood boards to help plan décor layouts
