The Technician II assists with maintenance tasks for company assets and assists maintenance staff with overhauling minor components and installing replacements, with electrical, hydraulic and computer diagnostics and with scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance.
At least one year of preventative maintenance or mechanical experience, or degree with demonstrated knowledge of maintenance on class B vehicles;
Must possess own tools;
Familiarity with shop equipment and safety practice's;
Effective time management skills;
Must be able to obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) brake certificate;
Mechanical aptitude;
Demonstrated aptitude for maintaining and repairing equipment;
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines;
Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate document daily work and progress, track procurements and repair status;
Ability to pay attention to detail and remain alert to ensure safety;
Ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate with co-workers; and
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or its equivalent;
Class B commercial drivers license;
Safe driving record for the past five years;
Formal training in preventative maintenance operations; and
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified or the ability to obtain certificate.
Valid Class C drivers license;
Safe driving record for the past three years; and
Current State Inspector License or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
