TreeSap Farms, LLC is a leader within the horticulture industry with a true coast-to-coast footprint consisting of over 4,000 acres in production encompassing 15 farm locations throughout Texas, Florida, Oregon and California. We are seeking an Inventory and Quality Control Associate in our Glen Flora location southwest of Houston, TX.

Summary

Responsible to assist sales with tree and shrub inventory availability, status of readiness and evaluation issues to ensure that inventory is both accurate and up to date. The complied data is used to determine and maintain quality of nursery products and increase sell through, reduce scrap and improve production processes. Coordinates among various departments to gather and disseminate inventory information by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

Generate reports on inventory balance and shortages.

Report on daily metrics and cycle counts.

Assist with tagging of plant material.

Identify usage and inventory issues.

Count merchandise in stock and post totals to inventory records.

Audit shipments and receipts on a daily basis.

Work with supply groups to keep appropriate and accurate inventories.

Coordinate outbound and inbound material shipments.

Interface with internal and external partners to meet supply chain objectives.

Comply with all safety rules and wear all PPE required for the task(s) at hand.

Data entry activities are required.

Will be required to print tags/stickers/bills of lading.

Will be required to perform cycle counts of plants and containers.

Answer sales phone calls with relation to product in the field

Digital Photos – you will be responsible to take digital photos of saleable material for the sales team.

This job requires work time both in and outside of offices, walking on uneven surfaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of plant material is helpful but not mandatory.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have basic computer skills to operate Excel, Word, Email programs and Oracle.

Must be able to download photos when needed.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

Must be able to communicate with manager and sales team.

Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.

Must be able to use a cell phone, its digital camera functions and email to communicate.

Must be able to walk for up to 90% of the day in the uneven ground of the nursery, outdoors in the weather, carrying up to 20 pounds while working.

Qualified candidate must be able to multi task.

Qualified candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment to accomplish required tasks.
