A precision machining shop in Southwest Houston is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join their team at the entry-level as a Shop Helper primarily situated in the Grinding Room. This role involves working with metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon in a climate-controlled environment equipped with an air purification system to reduce dust and airborne materials.
Responsibilities
-Assist with metal grinding, sanding, polishing, and finishing processes.
-Handle and organize aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon materials.
-Operate hand tools and basic shop equipment safely.
-Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the grinding room.
-Follow all safety guidelines and wear proper protective equipment.
Requirements
-Must be able to speak Spanish.
-Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
-Comfortable working with various metals in a grinding environment.
-Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
-Previous experience in a machine shop or grinding operation is a plus but not required.
-Previous experience with physical labor should make for an easy transition.
