Personal Injury Firm is looking for an experienced legal assistant or paralegal with a minimum of 3 years experience assisting with personal injury cases in pre-litigation and/or litigation. The ideal candidate will be a self starter and hard worker that wants to advance in the firm and has knowledge of personal injury claims, the discovery process, Texas law and civil procedure. Looking to fill position within 2 weeks of successful interview.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Effectively communicate with adjusters, medical providers and clients;
- Draft correspondence to adjusters, medical providers, defense counsel and clients;
- Negotiate settlements;
- Draft/File petitions;
- Draft discovery requests, responses, and objections;
- Calendar court dates, litigation and other deadlines;
- Draft/File motions;
- Schedule mediations, depositions of defendants/experts and prepare mediation/deposition notebooks;
- Prepare Pre-Trial filings; and
- Willing to participate in all aspects of personal injury litigation.
Compensation: $15-$20 per hour depending on experience plus discretionary bonuses; 30-40 hours per week; 4-6 days per week. This is a contract position that can lead to full time with benefits.
