Manufacturing/ fabrication shop seeking skilled and experienced welder for full time position. Competency with MIG (steel), TIG (aluminum, stainless steel, steel) is required. Knowledge of laser welding in a plus. Candidate must live within 30 miles of Bellville, TX. Pay based on experience.
Requirements:
- MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MILES OF BELLVILLE, TX, 77418
- Ability to stand/ work for 8+ hours a day
- Applicant must speak and write in English proficiently
- Legal to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma or GED, Associate’s degree preferred
- Welding certification preferred
- Pass on-site welding test
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good Oral Communication skills
- Good Time Management skills
- Expert knowledge of welding equipment and process
- Clean background, no drug or alcohol issues
- 5+ years of welding & fabrication experience
- Competency with welding, MIG, TIG, knowledge of laser welding is a plus
- Experience working in shop environment
- Competency with pneumatic and electric power tools
- Experience working around heavy industrial equipment
- Attention to detail, versed in reading and interpreting fabrication prints, following prints, working with CAD designers to review and modify.
- Competency with measurements both metric and standard
- Ability to take on given task both solo and in groups
- Flexibility in day-to-day work, some days are grinding and blending, some welding, some packaging, etc.
- Ability to execute plans in a production environment
- Organizational skills for managing tasks, projects, parts production on a day-to-day basis
Ideal candidate will perform needed welding type day to day for production, as well as train on laser welding machine to potentially execute said process full time.
The position exists to weld to assigned production specifications
The person chosen for this position will be responsible for welding, developing fixturing and finishing as directed by the Lead Welder
Fixturing
Take raw parts and place them into/onto/around any fixtures, jigs or apparatus’ to facilitate welding
Create fixtures, jigs or apparatus’
Align components using calipers, rulers, etc. and clamp or secure pieces for welding
Maintenance
Replace welding machine consumables as needed
Perform pre-welding inspection of equipment for damage, wear, etc. and notify Lead Welder as needed
Safety
Routinely ensure work area is free of clutter
Routinely ensure work area is swept and free of trip hazards
Utilize all personal safety equipment i.e. hoods, vents, goggles, gloves, masks, safety shoes, aprons, etc.
Follow Directions
Adhere to guidance and training provided by Lead Welder
Moving
Raw parts may need moved via hand or pallet with a manual pallet jack
Welding
Very skilled at TIG welding.
Skilled at MIG welding.
Materials include Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum

Each product is unique to the customer and standards may not be the same across customers.
The nature of the work requires working knowledge of the manufacturing process, welding as well as time management to meet stringent deadlines.
The workload will increase and each individual is expected to work towards independent work with a lower level of supervision
The position will play a key role in the facilitation of the welding step of production through the efficient moving of raw parts to welding stations, fixturing raw parts accurately, TIG & MIG welding using various techniques and moving finished parts to the next phase of production.
