This position will operate a series of punch press machines and cutting equipment to manufacture a finished good from sheet metal.
Individual must be willing to learn and work in other aspects of the manufacturing process.
We are willing to train the right individual to operate the equipment if they possess the proper attitude. This position requires you to move and be on your feet all day.
Operate punch press machines, metal cutting equipment efficiently to ensure that specifications are met.
Calculate unspecified dimensions and machine settings as required.
Mounts attachments, cutting tools, backing plates and adjusts machine guides according to specifications.
Adjust machine controls and change tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
Inspect sample workpieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as tape measures and calipers.
Lift workpieces manually to position and secure them in machines.
Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on machines, using hand tools, and verify their positions with measuring instruments.
Examines and measures finished articles to verify conformance to standards, using calipers, micrometer, ruler or tape measure
Selects materials to use based on order requirements
Replace worn tools, and sharpen dull cutting tools and dies using bench grinders or cutter-grinding machines.
Select cutting tools and tooling instructions, according to written specifications or knowledge of material properties and shop mathematics.
maintain a clean and safe working environment
ability to read standard measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, ruler)
ability to understand work orders, written and verbal instructions
Reliable transportation
Must be able to speak and understand English, bilingual is acceptable.
