One of my client companies is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer with mechanical and electrical skills for their plant in Houston, TX.
My firm is a national search firm specializing in the rental uniform and linen industry who has a client in Houston, TX seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, will report to Chief Engineer. Hours are 6 am - 4 pm Mon-Thurs. and 8 am - 1 pm on Fridays (half days). No weekends - can depend on demands or installations.
“Summary: Performs routine preventative maintenance, repairs on all production, and building equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees laundry service operations.
Requisitions parts and supplies.
Performs all repairs and maintenance in a safe manner.
Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on machines and equipment and ensures other repairs and adjustments are made.
Maintains records on machine production and time lost due to machines being out of order.
Plans, assigns, and/or oversees the work of others.
Installing new equipment, diagnosing repairs, removing, and replacing defective parts. Troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
Performs related work as assigned.
Equipment and machinery to include:
Pneumatics, conveyor systems, electric motors, laundry equipment, PLC repair/replacement, boiler, pumps, hydraulics, chain driven devices, etc.
Qualifications:
Experience in laundry work, to include PM services and general repair work on laundry equipment. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Physical Demands:
Pass a basic physical
Be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Training:
Skill in the operation and maintenance of laundry machinery and equipment; and general knowledge of routine maintenance in regards to laundry and processing equipment.
Ability to maintain records; to prepare concise reports; and to plan, assign, and coordinate preventative maintenance and general repairs.
3rd Class Stationary Steam Operator License is preferred. If the individual doesn't have this license, our company will assist with obtaining the license at our cost.
Communication:
All communication shall go through your supervisor.
You are expected to be able to communicate with manufactures to trouble shoot issues on production equipment.
Work Environment:
All work will be performed in the plant.”
