A reputable and nice appearing independently owned Automotive Mechanic Shop with a large established and growing customer base looking for the next team member to join us to work full-time in the town of Magnolia, TX near SH249 and FM1488. All positions work a regular Monday thru Friday 8-6. Your weekends would be free!
We offer:
Auto Technicians are paid flagged hours with a max possible 50 hour at work week. A rising pay scale of up to $42.50/hr. (all techs earn $42.50/hr. for all flagged hours after 25 flagged hours). Hourly flag rate is 0-15 @ $20/hr., 15-20 @ $27.50/hr., 20-25 @ $35/hr. At each level the higher rate achieved is applied to all hours on paycheck. Everyone can earn the big money if they do their job right. Most of my tech's consistently flag over 30 hours a week. We have plenty of quality work.
Paid vacation or sick days, 5 days/year acquired annually, does not accrue. Many holidays are paid at base rate if the shop is closed. We close for major holidays that occur during the work week.
Uniforms are required but we pay half the rental costs, so you don’t wear out clothes or have so much laundry.
We have a well-equipped and maintained clean shop with many lifts, specialty equipment, and tools to make the job easier. Most repairs are performed indoors. We have Identifix and Mitchell repair databases, WIFI for your scanner. A dedicated employee fridge, food prep area, and indoor lunch room with table and chairs. Nice location with all amenities close by.
Requirements:
Applicants must be over 18 years of age with a valid driver's license without recent major violations. Background check will be run on all applicants.
Be able to lift 70 lbs. above head, perform 5-7 hours of labor on your feet in a day in cool or warm indoor shop. Read well and write legibly. Use a PC to search internet databases and parts companies for specs, instructions, and parts.
Looking for someone with good attitude, adequate communication skills. You will be asked to provide service writer with a list of all parts needed for proper repair within reason. This means you may need to use one of the computer terminals to look through a job to see which brake rotor your job has when more than one size is offered or special one-time use parts are noted on repair order, diag. sheet, etc. verbal is last resort and not reliable. Service writer is busy and cannot do your job too. That being said we work hard and together at all times. Problems are often handled by group think and idea sharing. Everyone helps push a car in etc.
Be at work on time at least 95% of the time. Bring most of your own tools and boxes. Shop is secure with security cameras. Must be sober during all working hours or when on premises.
We perform all standard repairs and maintenance services. Drivability and Emissions fault diagnostics for cars, light trucks, & SUV’s. Gas and Diesel, some light Hybrid. Suspension diagnostics and Hunter Alignments, AC, Engine repair, data networks, and more.
Be able and willing to work on most makes and models within reason up to 25 years old, we don’t screw around with basket cases or dream cars.
Applicants must be able to identify problems and complete repairs effectively and efficiently the first time reliably, we value a quality repair done right the first time over speed with come backs or misdiagnoses.
Applicants may be required to test drive repaired vehicle long enough and in the proper fashion to ensure that the problem has been completely fixed and other issues noted. Diagnostic time is paid so it must be earned.
Attention to detail is required as well as the ability to interact with customers, managers, and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner. Work areas are to stay uncluttered with old parts and chemicals disposed of quickly if a piece of trash or scrap is leaving your had it should be over the proper receptacle. Tools will be cleaned and maintained properly. Any broken or missing tools or problems arising with a customer, or their vehicle should be reported immediately.
If you don't have certification a combination of education, training and or experience will earn you consideration in the role.
Applicant must beady to be a productive worker, with my graduated pay scale if the company doesn’t make money you don’t, but if the company made money then so did you. If you spend half a day wasting time you shouldn’t apply. If you come with a professional work ethic you can make serious money.
