We are seeking an experienced Flux Core Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in fitting and flux core welding (FCAW) on a variety of metal structures and components. You must be able to read and interpret blueprints, work accurately, and adhere to high safety and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Fit and assemble structural components according to blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
· Perform flux core arc welding (FCAW) on carbon steel with 0.62 dual shield (1/16)
· Ensure proper alignment and positioning of parts during fitting and welding.
· Use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
· Set up welding equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper operation.
· Perform grinding, cutting, and other pre- and post-weld operations to ensure clean and precise welds.
· Conduct quality checks on welds and fitted parts to ensure they meet project specifications.
· Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
· Collaborate with other team members, including fitters, welders, and supervisors, to meet project deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to pass a 3G and a 4G test on ½”-1” carbon steel
· Certification in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 4 years of experience in fitting and welding, preferably in a structural or industrial fabrication environment.
· Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
· Proficient in the use of hand and power tools for fitting and welding.
· Physical ability to lift heavy materials, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
