This is a fully travel-based role with a 17/11 rotation. You can live anywhere in the U.S.
Summary: The Site Safety & Health Office will guide and support the Project Management Team in all aspects of the company’s Incident & Injury Free (IFF) Safety Initiative. This is a 100% field-based travel position with rotation based on company project sites. Employees must be flexible to travel and work on a rotating schedule of 17 days on/11 days off. Meal allowance ($52/day), lodging, and transportation are provided.
Core Role Responsibilities
Support the Gulf Coast Regional Manager and project team on all safety-related matters.
Provide 95 percent on site safety oversight for project execution.
Monitor heavy equipment, vessels, and work areas both in and out of water.
Attend and support daily safety meetings on site.
Be proactive in identifying hazards, issues, and “good catches” to share with crews.
Assist supervisors with required safety training:
o Fall protection
o Confined space
o Respirator awareness
o Firefighting
Prepare and submit weekly safety reports and summaries.
Conduct new hire orientation (PowerPoint, videos, training).
Manage the green-hat program for new hires and reinforce safety expectations.
Conduct daily morning meetings reviewing safety hazards, awareness, and issues.
Serve as a research-oriented, problem-solving safety resource on site.
Required Certifications (Must Have at Least One)
Hiring manager is flexible, but candidate must have at least ONE of the following active certifications:
Fall Protection
Confined Space
Respiratory Protection
Preferred Certifications / Knowledge
(Not required, but valued)
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Firefighting
Job Hazard Analysis knowledge (JHA)
OSHA general training
Understanding of EM 385-1-1 (not required; new 2024 version can be learned after hiring)
Experience Requirements
Construction safety experience is preferred.
Heavy equipment / vertical construction / heavy civil experience is a plus.
Environmental / QC backgrounds: acceptable only if the person was true safety, not wearing multiple non-safety hats.
3–5 years construction or heavy-equipment safety experience.
OSHA 30 training certificate required
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in safety management, Safety Engineering, or Construction highly preferred
