JumpStar Logistics a premier local trucking company is currently sourcing for Body Mechanic / Diesel Mechanics. We are a small fleet with local owners who care about drivers and support staff. We understand people are the backbone to the business. If you are not a clock watcher and love working on big trucks and trailers you should be calling us now. We have a current need for 2 positions. Depending on your experience level you will be either a junior or senior level mechanic.
As a junior diesel mechanic you will be exposed and have an opportunity to work with lead senior mechanic on a 1x1 basis to expand your knowledge and skills in the following areas.
General semi truck and trailer repairs
Oil changes and PM services
Diagnostics using dealer-level software
Diagnostics for Volvo, Detroit DD-13, Detroit DD-15, Detroit DD-16, Detroit 60-Series, Cummins X15, Paccar engines
After-treatment diagnostics and work, including DOC and DPF cleaning
ABS troubleshooting and repair
Electronic troubleshooting and repair
AC diagnostics and repair
Kingpin replacement
Full trailer inspection
Body Repair / Senior Mechanic will be expected to do and train on all above as well as:
Engine overhauls
Complete inframes
Transmissions and related components
Strong working knowledge of traditional and newer engines
Strong knowledge and awareness of computer aided diagnostics & troubleshooting
Completing major and minor repairs roadside as required
Ability to use welder
Ability to operate sandblaster
Repair and paint truck bodies
YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO MEET THESE JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of experience truck or car engines (can include school training)
- Knowledge and comfort using computers and handheld devices
- Ability to change tires
- High School diploma (Diesel trade school recent grad welcome)
- Contract work week (shift 1 hours 6am - 4pm) (shift 2 hours 10am - 8pm)
- Own tools
- Command of English language
