Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervise, assign, review and evaluates the work of other mechanics engaged in maintenance and repair of transportation and lawn care equipment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Perform preventive maintenance and service on a wide variety of landscape power equipment and all equipment and trucks. This includes but not limited to trucks, commercial mowers, weed eaters and trailers.
Diagnose and troubleshooting equipment failures
Repairs and maintain diesel and gasoline engines
Diagnose and repairs mechanical defects in trucks, tractors and other mechanical equipment
Changes oil and oil filters, changes air filters, changes and repairs tires
Annual inspections as needed
Maintain documented records of equipment repairs and services
Maintain inventory and stock of spare parts
Perform routine and no routine tasks in maintenance of servicing motorized equipment
Maintain duplicate keys for each vehicle and equipment as applicable
Review delivered items and compared with invoices to ensure orders are correct
Provide monthly reports of services to the Division Managers
Operate safely and maintain shop in clean and orderly manner
Monitor the equipment/ repair portion of the annual budget
Qualifications/Skills
Three years of experience in automotive and equipment repairs
Able to maintain records, estimate costs of material, order parts and maintain inventory
Good attendance and punctuality
Active Class C driver license (must be at least 21 Yrs old, for Insurance purposes)
Knowledge of proper tool usage
Excellent knowledge for diagnosing and repairing equipment in a safe and productive manner
Able to climb, bend, stood and work in rough ground in order to access equipment and make necessary repairs
Able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards
Must be organized and highly detail oriented
Able to meet and exceed deadlines
Able to follow direction
Able to work eight hours or more five days a week with necessary breaks
Must be able to work hard and long days with heavy lifting
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
