This position reports to the Controller and supports the organization's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, commitment to our community, accountability, and ownership.Duties and Responsibilities:General Accounting Support
Assist the Controller with daily accounting tasks and financial reporting.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Accounts Receivable
Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and customer follow-ups.
Reconcile accounts receivable accounts to ensure accuracy.
Payroll Support
Backfill for payroll functions during peak times or absences, including data entry and processing payroll.
Maintain employee records and ensure that payroll data is accurate and up-to-date.
Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and related documentation.
Compliance and Auditing
Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information as requested.
Other Duties
Collaborate with other departments to gather and verify financial information.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in accounting operations.
Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Prior cost accounting experience a plus, but not required.
VISTA accounting software experience a plus, but not required.
TRACK experience a plus, but not required.
