Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Laredo is looking for a Customs Supervisor to join our Customs team.Your RoleReporting to the Branch Manager you will be responsible for the Daily Operations of the Imports Department. The incumbent will develop, document and maintain the Imports Department procedures as well as coordination of Mexican Broker resources and help with US Customs requests.Your Responsibilities
Impeccable customer service
Supervise the scheduling of team to ensure efficient resources utilization (analysis (covering for outages and ensuring bottlenecks are reallocated – including minimization of Overtime).
Perform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customsACON New - Billing / unbilled tracking – current month files & queue monitoring and acknowledgement state.
Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation.
Statement Processing & Statement file Auditing (random or targeted depending on known issues).
Process documents through the Company’s ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate.
PSC filing / file compliance concerns.
Handle initial customer escalations and monitor email traffic for lack of agent response.
Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information for clients and any other government agency, and other correspondence (Monitor Entries not released report to identify material on longer than normal customs holds or files that need deletion).
New account implementation & Process improvement initiatives, data flow, productivity – ensuring desk level Working
Instruction is in place and proper onboarding to the agent
Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies along with root analysis, possible resolutions to manager, Operation manager or branch manager.
Resolve Accounting Tickets or Disputes if corresponding to the accounts handled by her, include Missed Billing, NO Record of Invoices, etc.
Employee may also have additional responsibilities in accordance with supporting a specific department(s)/division(s) and/or be tasked with specific, individualized assignments
Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.
Suggested file count: Less than 100 per month.
Employee issues such as tardiness, vacations (pre-authorizations).
Your Skills and Experiences
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Must be detail oriented, thorough and accurate and have the ability to efficiently solve problems
Basic knowledge of INCO terms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Customs regulations and other government agency requirements
