Veterinary Financial Coordinator

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Financial Coordinator to join our team in Lewisville, North Dallas, TX!

Veterinary experience is required; organized, fiscally responsible and goal-driven.

As the Financial Coordinator, you will have primary responsibility for charge capture and other billing-related activities across the hospital.  You will ensure that all charges are captured in an appropriate manner by auditing records for accuracy and verifying that charges align with the patient’s treatment record(s). You will work with hospital leadership to rectify recurring charge capture issues and educate other associates regarding charge capture protocols.   The role may also have primary responsibility for coordinating and maintaining payment plans, providing clients with billing updates, and collection of accounts receivable. As a Financial Coordinator:

Make sure deposit is collected and respond to any client financial concerns.

Performs audits and works in conjunction with the finance team.

Calculate and collect payments for medical procedures and services.

Maintain financial communications to ensure all deposits are received and appropriate financial updates are given.

Monitor the flow of the day, anticipate the need for revised estimates.

Check in with the doctor and technicians consistently throughout the day (Audit and Charge capture)

Provide updates to clients and educate them as needed.

Prepare invoices, and document amounts due to medical procedures and services.

Managing the status of accounts and balances and identifying inconsistencies.

Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.

Initiates refund requests when necessary.

Ensures adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting error or problems as needed.

Possess knowledge of hospital procedures, of spelling and meaning of commonly used terminology in veterinary medicine.

Have strong client service skills and the ability to act with compassion, empathy and diplomacy.

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments.

Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications to manage files, records and other office procedures.

Have prior knowledge of veterinary software and function.
