Automotive Diagnostics Mechanic

Automotive Diagnostics Mechanic Needed:

At Pan American Auto LLC, we are a fast paced and continually growing company in need of a general mechanic to help with the everyday mechanic shop duties by joining our growing family. The primary place of employment will be in North Pharr Area (Between Sioux Rd and Nolana Rd). Interested candidate duties are but are not limited to:

1. Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments on various vehicle systems, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical/electronic systems.

2. Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to identify complex automotive problems accurately.

3. Conduct thorough inspections to detect any potential issues and provide recommendations for necessary repairs or replacements.

4. Interpret diagnostic codes and data to determine the root cause of malfunctions and develop effective repair strategies.

5. Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and diagnostic techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.

6. Maintain accurate records of diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and parts used for each vehicle.

7. Mount and dismount tires.

8. Balance tires using our equipment.

9. Fix flat tires.

10. Remove and replace fuel injectors.

11. Flush and drain transmissions.

12. Conduct oil changes on regular vehicles and some Diesel trucks.

13. Remove and replace timing chains and tensioner belts.

14. Remove and replace brakes and rotors.

15. Remove and replace headlights, wipers, and other minor automobile needs.

16. Use common sense in problem solving.

17. Good communication skills.

18. Must identify additional issues with a vehicle when they arise.

19. Have knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle components.

20. Solve vehicle problems by thinking ahead.

21. Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.

22. Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain or upgrade.

23. Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.

24. Plus, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for this position are:

1. Be punctual at work.

2. Must own tools.

3. Proven experience as an automotive mechanic specialized in diagnostics.

4. Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles

5. Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods

6. Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g., Lift)

7. A willingness to observe and follow all safety precautions for protection against accidents.

8. Excellent physical condition

9. High school diploma is preferred; but experience in the field can replace this qualification.

10. Read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
