Eyewear Specialist

Coordination of Frame Eyewear:

Assist in the selection of eyewear including frames, lenses and support aids that will assist in improving vision

and care of vision aids

Communication to patients and execution of billing for eyewear to patients and/or vision benefits

Scheduling of patients for dispense appointments

Inspection of eyewear to meet appropriate ANSI and office standards for fulfilling the patient’s prescription

accurately

Adjustment and dispensing of eyewear to patients

Follow up with patient regarding their eyewear

Manage frame and lens fitting inventory

Maintain clean and attractive Frame Displays

Maintain updated pricing for in stock frame inventory

Frame returns managed weekly

New inventory priced and displayed on frame boards weekly

Patient training regarding proper insertion, removal, care, wear and pricing for contact lenses

Communicate with the frame buyer and your lead optician of frame inventory needs

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Coordination of Sales:

Opticians will often be responsible for adhering to store budgets, cost of goods sold (COGS), and sales per

hour (SPH) and meeting and beating revenue goals.

Opticians are responsible for driving the controllable contributions of their location.

Opticians are selling leaders and are required to meet/beat personal and store sales goals.

Opticians are expected to meet/beat productivity numbers while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Comprehensive knowledge of operations, processes, and high level of business acumen

Strong motivate and influence skills

Strong communication and listening skills

Ability to problem solve, exercise sound judgment, and exhibit a high level of attention to detail

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet required deadlines

The purpose of the position is to provide excellent customer service and assistance to patients/customers.

Colleagues in this classification perform sales and customer service work. They are responsible for greeting

patients, assisting patients with purchase of eyewear, providing patients with promotional information, and

answering customer inquiries.

The optician will create a customer experience for the patient while using proper dispensing techniques.

Dispensing process will include determination of the power ranges and specific lens measurements by frame;

measure, fit, and adapt lenses and frames for client according to written optical prescription or specification.

The optician oversees eyewear quality from the in-store and/or Corporate Lab. Quality Control

responsibilities include: identification and resolution of recurring errors and the development of systems and

solutions to eliminate errors.

Miscellaneous Duties:

Attend and actively participate in leadership team meetings and leadership training.

Understand insurance verification and submission for all Vision Plans

Maintain optical dispense schedule and inspect to ensure being executed properly

Communicate with leadership team regarding scheduling needs for events such as trunk show, training, etc.

Strategically manage and coordinate prompt responses to patient delays or patient’s experiences that do not

reflect our core values

Communication with leadership team of facility needs with equipment, instrumentation and IT for each

location in optical

Oversee cleanliness and organization if optical areas of all locations

Participate in various clinic initiatives
