Description The largest employer in West Texas is looking for a Service/Shop Tech to join their team in Odessa, Texas. This is a contract to full-time position that will go full-time in 3 to 6 months and will report directly to the Shop Manager. Our client is looking to move quickly as this is an excellent entry level position for anyone looking to get into heavy equipment. As the Service/Shop Tech you will be responsible for: - Being the right hand man of the equipment mechanics to include: - ensuring service bay is clean - shadowing equipment mechanics - cleaning equipment This can be a dirty job but for the right person it can turn into an excellent long term opportunity. Candidates with prior lube shop experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a can-do attitude who are okay with working hard and moving up are also encouraged to apply. Requirements - Well-founded grasp of Equipment Repair Proven knowledge of Equipment Maintenance
Data entry experience
Shop Floor experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Machine Shop Equipment
Machine Shop experience
Experience with Equipment Inventory
Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
Word and Excel experience is desired
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Trained to handle office equipment
High school diploma or its equivalent is required
