Position Overview:
RR Waste and Septic is expanding and growing. We are selectively looking for a diesel mechanic. The right candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and vehicles. They ensure that diesel-powered equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of diesel engines and related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspect diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine necessary repairs.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure optimal
performance.
3. Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
4. Repair or replace faulty components such as engine parts, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
5. Perform engine overhauls and rebuilds when necessary to restore performance and extend equipment lifespan.
6. Test repaired equipment to verify proper functionality and safety compliance.
7. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
8. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and new diesel engine models to maintain expertise in
the field.
10. Collaborate with other team members, including mechanics, supervisors, and parts specialists, to coordinate workflow
and ensure timely repairs.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in diesel mechanics
preferred.
2. Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine operation and repair techniques.
3. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
4. Familiarity with diesel engine components, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and emissions control systems.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Physical strength and dexterity to handle heavy equipment and perform manual tasks.
8. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
10. A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour based on experience
