Job Responsibilities of Service Technician
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings.
Troubleshoot issues efficiently and effectively.
Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Perform equipment repairs on various HVAC components including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during all work activities.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
Job Responsibilities of Commercial Duct Installer:
Understand and follow construction plans and specifications to install ductwork systems accurately.
Measure and cut ductwork materials (such as sheet metal, fiberglass, or flexible ducts) to the appropriate size and shape.
Connect, assemble, and install ducts, registers, and vents in buildings, ensuring proper alignment and tight seals.
Use hangers, brackets, and straps to secure ductwork in place, ensuring that it is stable and meets local codes.
Install and configure ductwork to facilitate proper airflow, promoting effective ventilation and heating or cooling throughout the building.
Seal joints and seams with tape, mastic, or other materials to prevent air leaks and improve energy efficiency. Insulate ducts when necessary.
Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure the system is functioning properly, including checking for leaks and airflow consistency.
Work closely with HVAC technicians, engineers, electricians, and other construction personnel to ensure coordinated installation efforts.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing protective gear and using equipment safely to prevent accidents and injuries.
Diagnose and fix issues with ductwork systems, such as poor airflow, leaks, or improper installation
Maintain accurate records of materials, measurements, and installation processes for project tracking and compliance.
Properly maintain and care for installation tools, machinery, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working order.
Skills
Strong understanding of HVAC principles and practices.
Experience with equipment repair for various HVAC components.
Knowledge of air conditioning systems and their maintenance requirements.
Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a vehicle for service calls.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
