Description/Job SummaryResponsibilities
Firestopping Technician installs caulking at Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Sprinkler penetrations. Also, at Drywall, Masonry, and Curtain Wall joint applications.
Installs caulking at Penetrations and Joints using a bulk caulk gun, pulling product out of buckets, using 'sausage' packs, or standard tubes.
Inspect their work to ensure installation was done per UL Design.
Ability to read blue prints/life safety drawings.
Access to Penetrations and Joints may require use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stage, scaffolds, and ladders.
Duties of this job will require employee to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; as well as climb or balance and talk or hear.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Past firestop experience preferred
Must have form of dependable transportation; must be able to travel out of town, both on overnight and one day trips
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
Fall Protection. Forklift, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift certification preferred
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
