Shipper's Select has been in business for 11 years now. We started as a dry van company and have since changed to mainly flatbed. We have some dedicated flatbed customers customers that send us out and we have other dedicated reloads elsewhere. Trucks are typically home every week back here in Dallas but with current rates out there our guys are sometimes staying out longer.
Employee: If you only want to be a company driver: OTR/Regional. We will pay you both loaded and empty. If you have good experience we will pay you 60 cents loaded and 50 cents empty. You can expect to have checks from $2800-$3800 every other week before tax. This is a W2 position so we will take out tax. We run newer equipment and we do Federal inspections every three months on all equipment. We take care of our drivers and they take care of us. You do need to be able to tarp loads as needed. We pay $50 for tarping.
We have multiple trucks available for our owner operator positions. Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliner. We have above market dedicated rates from direct customers, but we also do have to run the loads boards as well to fill in the gaps. We are an 80/20 company.
We have a good reputation for taking care of the drivers and our drivers can attest to that. If you are currently a company driver not earning enough to justify being out for weeks on end I would highly recommend that you give us a call. We have plenty of actual driver references that can attest to how we take care of our drivers. I don't bring on a lot of drivers and our turnover is very low. I am looking for a professional driver who knows how to run their truck. The reason that our drivers stick with us is because we take care of them. When you have a truck repair we will help you out. We won't give you a no check. We are human and we will treat you like we would want to be treated.
Flatbed can be hard work. We try not to take tarp loads, but at times you get into an area where all the loads seem to be tarped. If you are unwilling to tarp then please do not apply.
