Job Description: Family Health & Wellness Facilitator Position
Overview: As a Family Health & Wellness Program Facilitator, this individual plays a pivotal role in delivering culturally-based services that address the deep-seated impacts of historical trauma, ACEs, domestic violence, and economic challenges within our community. The Facilitator oversees and facilitates both virtual and in-person classes, provides direct client support, and ensures high-quality service delivery through meticulous record-keeping, personalized plans, and regular quality checks. By integrating Indigenous healing teachings and fostering a community-centered approach, this role upholds AIT’s 30-year legacy of uniting and healing families. It demands a proactive, diligent, and culturally sensitive individual dedicated to making a meaningful impact and ensuring our program remains a beacon of hope and healing for the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Effectively facilitate psycho-cultural educational classes focused on healing historical trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), domestic violence, parenting, economic challenges, and role modeling. ● Foster a learning environment rooted in Indigenous healing teachings, emphasizing interconnectedness, resilience, and ancient methodologies. ● Manage classroom operations, ensuring the curriculum aligns with program goals and fosters collaboration among participants and facilitators. ● Continuously support and monitor classroom activities, ensuring a high standard of educational delivery and participant engagement. ● Address minor personal concerns of participants, escalating more complex issues to management when necessary. ● Diligently perform random quality checks and ensure compliance with program standards, maintaining the integrity of the services provided. ● Consistently operate in close coordination with a supervisor (manager or director) to track program progress, ensure compliance, and meet community health and wellness goals. ● Process invoices using the BriteWorks system, ensuring timely and accurate submission in line with program requirements. ● Skillfully support men, women, elders, and children in their healing journeys, emphasizing the role of men in addressing societal challenges such as fatherlessness, domestic violence, and child abuse. ● Engage with a diverse range of participants, including mothers, fathers, teenage parents, grandparents, and "parents of honor," providing tailored classes for different demographics. ● Uphold high standards of customer service and community engagement, ensuring participants feel supported and empowered in their educational and healing journeys. ● Creatively design and deliver programs that involve men as key contributors to solving familial and community challenges, working in conjunction with women, elders, and youth
Qualifications:
● An associate degree or higher education in social work, human services, or a related field, with 3 years of experience, is required. ● Preferred: Excellent written and oral communication skills, basic computer skills, Spanish speaker (optional). ● Proficiency in required software applications. ● Reliable transportation and must be available to work some nights and weekends. ● Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. ● Experience in a family health & wellness setting is preferred.
