Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that all field work is completed in an accurate, efficient, cost effective, and timely manner in alignment with specifications of Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying and Alliance Land Surveyors process and procedures and quality assurance requirements.

Must be a dedicated team player.

Responsible for maintaining and keeping an accurate log of all assigned equipment and work materials.

Must communicate with office every day regarding assigned work and debrief RPLS on job status and any issues with jobs before end of day.

Willing to attend skills development training meetings and continued education.

Expected to be flexible with scheduled work and deadlines as there could be changes daily.

Each crew is expected to be presentable in the field and represent Alliance Land Surveyors in a professional manor.

Able and willing to perform all Survey types including but not limited to: Construction staking, Topography, As-Builts, Farm and Ranch, Title Surveys, Tree Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Elevation certs, etc.

Conduct document review of plats, legal description, field notes, deeds, etc. prior to field surveying.

Obtains field data pertaining to angles, elevations, points, and contours using level, robotic total station, GPS, and other surveying instruments.

Prepare neat, accurate and concise field survey notes, sketches, and records of data obtained and performed.

Execute field changes in survey procedures due to unexpected circumstances.

Responsible for responding to questions and or complaints in the field.

Occasionally research at various local, city, and state offices may be required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Thorough knowledge of survey principles, practices and preparatory procedures in control, route, construction, property, and topographic surveys.

Thorough knowledge of the proper use of surveying instruments and equipment.

Knowledge of resources and methods of obtaining field data.

Must be proficient with Trimble, Sokkia, or Topcon and regarding software.

Knowledge of the legal aspects of boundary surveying

Ability to record observations clearly and accurately.

Ability to plan and organize routes.

Ability to negotiate in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

Valid Texas Driver’s License

Minimum of 3 years related field survey experience preferred.

Ability to withstand the physical requirements of outdoor work in inclement weather and work safely under hazardous working conditions.
