HALTER RANCH TEXAS
On the southern edge of the Edwards Plateau, in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Halter Ranch is setting the stage to introduce Halter Ranch Texas, a new luxury tasting room in Fredericksburg, Texas. Set on 32 oak-studded acres amidst the Hill Country’s rolling limestone highlands, spring wildflowers, encompassing grasslands, and warm rivers, Halter Ranch Texas, will be a coveted destination to the burgeoning Texas Highway 290 wine region. Offering wines from selectively sourced organic vineyards in the High Plains of Texas and our certified organic estate vineyards in California, we look forward to delivering a welcoming and tasteful experience in Texas Wine Country. Now in the final stages of construction, the tasting room plans to open Spring 2024.
OVERVIEW
A Porter is responsible for carrying out food preparation, general cleaning duties, and the operation of both the pot-washing and dishware machines.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly.
Ensuring all ingredients are in stock for the Chef to complete their menu.
Washing cutlery and dishes.
Parboiling foods, allowing the Chef to prepare the menu more efficiently.
Seasoning and preparing the necessary ingredients for cooking.
Preparing some dishes such as salads or other less complex menu items.
Setting out all the Chef’s ingredients before each shift and refilling as necessary.
Operate pot-washing machine and dish-washing machine.
Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
Carry out general cleaning.
Sweeping, mopping, washing, wiping down, and emptying trash receptacles.
Responsible for cleaning the coolers, freezers, and any back hallways.
Responsible for cleaning the chemical room.
Ensuring all kitchen and back of the house areas are kept clean, all equipment is stored in its’ proper location and cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
Observe Health, Hygiene & Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances.
Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
Wash, dry, and polish all dishware, flatware, and glassware.
Responsible for maintaining the kitchen with china, glasses, and silverware.
Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
Assist in events when needed.
Assist in the hygiene of the bathrooms when necessary.
Obtain Food Handlers Certification.
PHYSICAL
Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout the entire shift.
Use of high-temperature dishwasher, steamer, washing machine, and dryer as well as various wrapping and sealing items.
Ability to work in high temperatures.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. regularly throughout the entire shift.
Must be able to effectively stock wine, set up and break down tables, chairs and be able to utilize a dolly cart and assist in moving heavy objects.

Bussing
Host
Running
Expeditor
Pit Boss
Breaker
Polisher
Tour guide, both impromptu and reserved tours
Management may assign additional tasks and duties at any point in accordance with business needs.
Hours of service or scheduled working hours may be adjusted in accordance with business needs.
