In-home care for my 66 year old wife who has moderate Alzheimer's. I'm looking for a long-term caregiver who can devote up to 5 days or more per week with alternating weekend days. Generally, care is needed for 8 hours/day although hours & timing can be flexible. Caregiver should be substantially younger than my wife and in relatively good physical condition/health, e.g., not suffering from any injuries that would preclude helping my wife in/out of bed or out of her chair/car or off the toilet. Walking the neighborhood or at a gym is part of my wife's therapy which we will all do together. Transferring and toileting are integral to this position. More than anything else, I need a RELIABLE, HONEST, and TRUSTWORTHY assistant who will never leave my wife unattended (subject to potential serious injury) nor try to take advantage of me. Although your finances are none of my business, I do not wish to hire anyone who is financially irresponsible and in debt to everyone. If this describes you, please don't waste our time and energy. You, on the other hand, will find me to be one of the very best bosses for whom you have ever worked - guaranteed! I will be honest with you and respect your dignity. Your pay will be determined based on your experience caring for the elderly, preferably those with Alzheimer's and/or dementia, in that elderly person's own home. Cash for work performed will be paid at the end of each day. No work contract required but references are absolutely required. Caregivers must be HONEST and possess a FORGIVING attitude. Those with these traits, as well as a positive, energetic personality with a good sense of humor, and who are KIND, will be given first priority. Hopefully, you are that special person! (Two week and one-month evaluations will be conducted to see how you're doing).
Other duties will also include light housekeeping, bathing and shampooing, some food preparation, feeding, dressing, and assisting with medical appointments. Again, I'm looking for a long-term employment arrangement. A background check will prove most helpful. An in-home interview is required.
