We are a small remote medical revenue cycle management company in San Antonio and are urgently hiring a well-rounded, independent Medical Billing Specialist with a strong medical background and expertise in insurance collections. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing claims, verifying patient eligibility, and handling billing inquiries, payments, and denials. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and remotely while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities:
-Follow up on outstanding claims, including denials, no responses, and rejections with payors via phone or their portal to ensure timely reimbursement for medical services provided
-Verify patient eligibility and insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing
-Address and resolve patient billing inquiries over the phone in a professional manner
-Assist with posting payor and patient payments and denials via ERA or EOB/manually when needed
-Adapt to and cross-train in various billing functions as required
Requirements: (Minimum of 3 years of experience)
-Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD-10 coding (Minimum of 3 years)
-Experience with medical billing, coding, and collections (Minimum of 3 years)
-Familiarity with medical office procedures, including understanding of government insurances and commercial payors (Minimum of 3 years)
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy (Minimum of 3 years)
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Understanding of HIPAA Law to ensure compliance
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Capability to work remotely
