The Landscaping Laborer is responsible for maintaining the landscape and stormwater management areas using various tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will perform tasks such as weed-eating, operating a riding lawnmower, and supporting other stormwater management activities to ensure the proper functioning and aesthetic appeal of the environment.
Job Description
Weed-Eating and Trimming:
Operate weed-eating tools to trim and edge around trees, fences, and other obstacles
Ensure all designated areas are free from overgrown vegetation and weeds
Lawn Mowing:
Operate a riding lawnmower to maintain large grass areas
Perform routine maintenance and inspections of mowing equipment to ensure efficient operation
Stormwater Management:
Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of stormwater basin areas, including removing debris and blockages
General Landscaping:
Perform mulching, fertilizing, and other landscape enhancement activities
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the stormwater management team and other department members to achieve landscaping and environmental goals
Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required
Skills Required
Experience with landscaping tools and equipment, including weed-eaters and riding lawnmowers
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Education/Training/Certifications
Valid Driver’s License (for state of employment)

Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in various weather conditions
Exposure to noise, dust, and potentially hazardous materials.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Shift Hours: Need to be there no later than 5:45am. Work hours is 6:00am – 3:30pm
Pay Rate/Salary
$17.00/hr
