2nd Shift Group Leader

This position will be 2nd shift, 5pm-1:45am with some OT prior and/or after shift. This is a temp to hire position. This is for a supplier on the Toyota Plant. Must have Driver's License and bus does not go here. After conversion, you will receive a raise and benefits are available

SUMMARY

Responsible for supervision of and performance of Waste Management (WM) Team Member and

Technician activities related to processing scrap, recyclable, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste

generated from the process of building automobiles. Oversees delegated operations in absence of

Group Leader. The responsibilities of this position also include contributing to Environmental

Management System (EMS) performance, regulatory compliance (OSHA/DOT/EPA RCRA), and

continuous improvement in the protection of the environment and reduction of pollution from the

activities within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 Follows safety guidelines

 Ensures all rules involving safety and operations are enforced

 Cleans work area according to 5’s standards

 Directs employees as needed in performing their job

 Requisition of waste containers

 Evaluates routes and adjusts according to production flow.

 Schedules recyclable/scrap metal switch outs

 Assists in coordination of Waste Shipping activities

 Perform monthly internal waste audits

 Signs Non-Hazardous Waste manifests

 Assists in receiving and shipping of waste containers, as time permits

 Assists in preparation of the monthly waste reports

 Has ability to touch type

 Ability to use PC – word processing, spreadsheets, databases

 Communicates problems to group leader

 Assists group leader in creation of operational procedures/instructions and other documentation

 Must be qualified to perform all duties and responsibilities of WM Team Member and Technician

 Must be qualified to perform delegated Duties and Responsibilities of WM Group Leader

 Fills in for shift Group Leader as needed

 Participates in team meetings and training

 Other duties may be assigned, some travel may be required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in Waste Management related activities. Carries out supervisory

responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities

include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and

resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma and six months of related experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

Training as defined in 40402AAA, Training Requirements Matrix. unique training may be

obtained during first three months of employment. Additional training will be provided as a part of

Continuous Improvement.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to

write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small

group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to create and interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or

diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized

situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical

parts, in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet, humid, extreme cold, and

extreme heat conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes, vapors or

airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

The employee will be required to wear protective clothing, gloves, hard hat, respirator, as specified

in the various processes and/or instructions. The employee will also be required to wear safety

shoes and safety glasses.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

NOTE: This position could be a problem for someone with an acute allergy condition
