We are on the lookout for a security focussed SRE to be part of a flag ship engineering team leading the offensive charge against cyber threats for the US Government.
You will sit within the platform engineering team, working closely with the other SRE's, however you will be the go to person for everything Security related. You will have experience securing all aspects of Cloud Native infrastructure from Cloud and Containers to CI/CD and QA.
Your understanding of security will be such that you can champion best practices internally and have a solid understanding of shift left and its importance in the Software Delivery Process. Previous developing internal tools to support daily development work, specifically that of Red Team focussed CyberSec engineers.
Coming at this from a different angle is encouraged and you may have started life in security and moved into DevOps or even been a SysAdmin back in the day, discovering your love for security later in life. You will however, have an in-depth knowledge of Cloud (GCP preferred but AWS is fine) and be able to build complex cloud environments using Terraform as well as know your way around code (Golang or Python.)
We need engineers who bring a expert understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem wether that be managing pods through the cloud on EKS or GKE or standing up bare metal clusters with tools like kubelet, kubeadm and kubectl.
You will need to be approachable, humble, self-reflective and above all else passionate about delivering complex solutions through unity and teamwork. Question yourself, question others, challenge ideas and don’t shy away from voicing your opinion – their unique engineering culture encourages them all.
Valid or recently valid Top Secret security clearance is a must.
You must be open to being on site in San Antonio, Texas 3 days a week minimum.
