Position: Core Drilling & Slab Sawing Operator
Department: Field Operations
Location: (travel to job sites)
Employment Type: Full-time (weekends as needed)
Reports To: Field Supervisor / Project Manager
Role Summary
Operate core drills and slab/flat saws to cut or core concrete and asphalt safely and precisely. This role supports commercial and industrial projects and requires strong safety habits, reliable transportation, and clear communication with crews and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Perform concrete core drilling and slab/flat sawing according to specs, marks, and layouts.
Read basic plans, sketches, and measurements; set anchors; patch and finish penetrations.
Inspect and maintain saws, drills, vacuums, generators, and related tools; complete daily equipment logs.
Set up work zones (PPE, barricades, dust/water management) and keep sites clean.
Load, secure, and transport tools/materials; drive to multiple job sites.
Complete job tickets/time sheets and communicate progress/issues to the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written basics for job documentation).
Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation.
Pass a drug test (pre-employment; subject to random testing).
Willing and able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, kneel/bend, and work in outdoor/active construction environments.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
1+ year experience in concrete cutting (core drills, slab/flat saws, wall saws).
OSHA-10 certification, TWIC card, or similar safety credentials.
Familiarity with slurry/dust control, wet cutting, and silica safety.
Schedule & Pay
Full-time; start times may vary by project; weekend work required as needed.
