In need of a JW- Electrician with completing a commercial restaurant in San Antonio. The position is for this particular project but permanent position is always welcomed.
Responsibilities
As a Journeyman Electrician you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, minimize waste of materials
As well as assure the Safety of all employees and equipment on site
Lays out work and preps materials for installation
Performs underground layout and rough-in
Determines wire and conduit sizing
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders
Measures feeder wires efficiently and ability to pull wire with wire pulling equipment
Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
Troubleshoots and resolves problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment
Operates any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Direct workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Installing and Wiring AC Disconnects, Surge Protectors, and Upgrading Commercial/ Residential Service Panel Equipment
Running conduit, testing and troubleshooting installed equipment
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels; installs Buss, Busbar, electrical feeders, power systems and/or switchgear
Repairs faulty equipment or systems
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
Operate all equipment including trenchers, back hoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner
Must be able to work occasional overtime as required
Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by Supervisor
Follow design schematics and basic electrical diagrams
Climb ladders of all types
Complete full day assignments involving overhead work
Be able to work outdoor on daily basis
Service Technician will be granted a company vehicle (during work hours)
License/Certification:
Texas Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
Driver's License (Required)
