San Antonio Staffing is currently hiring a Shipping Clerk.
Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations of our organization. This position is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the distribution center, ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and reach trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments using AS400 or similar inventory management systems.
- Prepare packages for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation are completed.
- Assist in order fulfillment by picking and packing items as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of orders and efficient warehouse operations.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist with stock organization to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate weights, dimensions, and shipping costs as necessary.
Skills
- Experience working in a distribution center environment is preferred.
- Proficient in loading/unloading freight with pallet jacks and reach trucks.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including order fulfillment and order picking.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in shipments.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurement and calculations related to shipping operations.
- Experience with AS400 or similar inventory management software is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
Normal Schedule hours 6am -6p- Monday - Saturday
