Description:
Diesel mechanic needed. Experience in Detroit engines. Must be able to repair malfunctioning
components, adjust steering systems, engines, change brakes, service AC, and replace worn
parts. Must maintain diesel equipment operations by completing inspections and preventative
maintenance requirements. Oversee all aspects of equipment repair including but not limited to
supervising and training shop technicians in the proper diagnostic and repair process to maintain
the diesel fleet up to DOT standards.
Experience/Requirement:
● Perform maintenance for fleet vehicles and complete in a safe manner that is compliant
with local, state, federal and company policies.
● Inspect belts, hoses, steering systems, brakes, fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other
potentially troublesome areas for additional repairs needed.
● Check, fill and/or change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts and check/change filters.
● Inspect and repair fleet vehicles support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake
systems.
● Detroit series 60 pre-emision knowledge
● Maintains work orders and records with sufficient background to ensure requirements for
quality have been met
● How to maximize use of tires (tread depth and life span)
● AC Repair
● Welding and metal fabrication a plus
● How to perform a proper PM (both A and B) on a truck
● Availability to be on site during work hours
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and must be familiar with Materials Handling equipment.
Perform other skills and tasks as required and requested by the company.
