Based in San Antonio, Texas - We are currently hiring a HotShot Driver with experience on the road (OTR), ready to travel the US depending on where the loads take you. We are looking for a reliable, friendly and energetic driver to join our team. We value hard work, mental toughness, good character and outstanding customer service skills.
REQUIREMENTS for Employment:
Must have a TEXAS driver’s license
Must have a CLEAN Driving Record (MVR) – No tickets or accidents within the last 5 years.
Minimum of 1 year Hotshot experience or equivalent OTR (on the road) experience.
Must have experience driving a Gooseneck Trailer or equivalent.
Must have experience securing loads with straps, chains, binders, tarps, etc.
Resume with Previous Work Experience
References will be required prior to interviewing
JOB EXPECTATIONS for Employment:
Position is over the road (OTR) and driver must be willing to be away from home for multiple weeks at a time.
Time at Home will be scheduled in conjunction with dispatcher and the loads that are being scheduled/booked.
o Per the FMCSA - Shifts can be the following: (70HR Week – 34HR Reset)
o Up to a total of 14 hours per day (to include pre/post inspection, driving time; waiting on loads, break time etc.)
o Up to a total of 11 hours of dedicated driving time per day – Up to 6 Days straight
o 30 min required break during the first 8hrs of shift.
o Minimum of 10 hour - Nightly Mandatory Reset Period
o Driver must be willing to sleep in the Truck (RAM 2500) each night at truck stops/rest stops, etc.
o Each week during the DOT Required Reset Time (34HR); the Company will provide a Hotel Room for 1 night at a hotel based on the location of current load.
Must be drug free in accordance with the FMCSA Regulations and must be willing to participate in random drug testing per the guidelines established by the USDOT Clearinghouse.
Must adhere to the Company’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) processes established to remain compliant with all FMCSA Regulations.
PAY & OTHER INFO:
Weekly Pay is set within a sliding Scale based on Percentage (%) of Loads that are Delivered on time – Scale will begin at 20% of Loads - $730 - $1620 per week.
o The Week will begin on Monday once loaded and end once the remaining loads are delivered from that week.
o All % Increases will be performance based and can be implemented after Probationary Period.
o Fuel Card Supplied by Company.
o Driver Position is not eligible to receive Per Diem
Once Driver is hired, they will be required to establish their own Business LLC through the Texas Secretary of State Office (SOS), as well as set up an individual Business Checking Account at their personal bank. The Driver will get paid each week through their LLC Business Account directly from the Company account.
o If required the Company HR Department will assist new employees with setup of LLC and Business Account – Cost is $350; which can be deducted from first paycheck.
o The Driver’s Business LLC will belong solely to the driver who will be responsible for any and all Federal & State Taxes, Social Security contributions or payments, Disability Insurance, Unemployment Taxes and any other payroll taxes. The Company will require the Driver to be compliant in payment of all necessary Self-Employment Taxes associated with their role in the Company
Benefits & Supplemental Pay Types:
Company Paid – 1 Night in a Hotel (Per Week) during allotted Reset Period. (70HR Week – 34HR Reset)
Performance Based Bonus at conclusion of 1 year of service and each year after.
Bonus for Passing Driver Safety Audits & DOT Roadside Inspections; as well any other FMCSA Testing & Inspections pertaining to employment; each at Company’s discretion.
