Job Description: The Employment/Housing Specialist provides services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness, or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of becoming homeless, and who are unemployed, underemployed, or at risk of becoming unemployed. The Employment/Housing Specialist provides skills training and supports that lead to obtaining and maintaining affordable housing and employment, which promote housing stability, independent living, recovery, and wellness. The Employment/Housing Specialist will work with individuals to develop a person-centered housing plan and a Person-Centered Recovery Plan, and provide skills training and supports that promote independent living, housing stability, affordability, and increased tenure in the community. Work schedule is flexible and training is provided.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a related human services field. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Good communication and problem-solving skills, and an aptitude to work with people that have mental illness and developmental disabilities.
