Cotton Eyed Joes, t-shirt and gift shop in Historic Gruene is looking for an Assistant Manager. Cotton Eyed Joes is a sister business to several other well-known concepts including Gruene Hall, The Gristmill, Mozies and the Gruene Antique store.
The Assistant Manager will aid the General manager in the responsibilty for all aspects of running the souvenir and gift store, including:
Selecting and buying all inventory with an emphasis on t-shirts and Texas/Gruene themed gift merchandise
Merchandising the store, including décor
Effectively managing 10 15 employees, including hiring, training, scheduling and motivating team
Problem solving and troubleshooting in the moment
Ensuring exceptional guest interactions
The ideal candidate will have:
A pleasant outgoing demeanor;
2-3 years of experience in a retail specialty store;
Proven, successful experience managing 10+ employees;
Availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays;
Experience with retail POS systems (Lightspeed), as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook specifically)
An understanding of invoice coding and reviewing income and expense statements;
The ability to work well with minimal supervision; and
The ability to lift up stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 45 lbs.
