The Department seeks to attract, develop, and retain excellent faculty members with strong records and future promise through flexible research agendas and competitive start-up packages. The Department is especially interested in candidates who will contribute to the excellence of the University’s academic community through their research, teaching, and service. This position is primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate courses at the Stephenville campus location and online graduate (M.S.) courses. However, assignments may include support at all campus locations, online, and site visits with industrial partners. Additional responsibilities will include managing and teaching hands-on laboratories, continued development of learning processes, and operational support for the department, college, and institution.Work hours are Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. Must be able to work/teach remotely at the request of the University.All ranks will be considered, recruiting until position is filled. The required teaching load will be an 18-hour course load during the fall and spring semesters combined with lab components. Summer employment beyond the 9-month contract will be contingent upon the need for services and budget availability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

60% Teaching and Service: Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology, and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes; Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning. May be required to teach at other campuses or online. Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry; Work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation. Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.

40% Research: Demonstrate a record of ongoing research, scholarship, or creative activity appropriate to your academic discipline.

Minimum Requirements:

Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and master’s students

Must take an active role in accreditation-related tasks and other institutional service activities

Rank will be determined by reviewing the faculty member’s record of years of experience and professional achievements in teaching and service consistent with the Texas A&M system guidance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

A combination of teaching and/or work experience (5 or more years combined) in construction methods and materials, project management, construction risk management, leadership and productivity studies in construction, estimating, project scheduling, and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM). In addition, experience with high-impact teaching practices, course redesign, or hybrid/hy-flex/online modalities, and accreditation is desirable

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :Demonstrated ability in the discipline and showing clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and college dean. Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching and service.
