Caregivers are needed for a professional with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, type 2 in Sherman, TX. I am hiring caregivers privately to avoid agency drama. I need help with all activities of daily living. I am an active power wheelchair user who works from home most of the day. When I go out, I need an assistant to drive me and provide assistance with care. I have my own accessible vehicle, but I need someone to drive. I have inside dogs. I'm married and, currently, my husband assists me with everything. This is a challenge for the both of us. I need someone to work AM, PM, and weekend shifts. Shift duration is an average of 1-4 hours. Perfect for students or parents looking for a gratifying side gig or experience for CNAs. I am looking for someone with a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor. I am a positive and patient person. I do not expect perfection and will work with someone who is really trying.
DUTIES INCLUDE ASSISTANCE WITH:
Showering
Toileting
Dressing
Grooming
Transfers
Laundry
Housekeeping/Organizing
Preparing meals
Taking Medication
Range of Motion/Exercise
Skin care
Pet care
Running errands/Escort
There is no direct lifting as I use a Hoyer Lift for all transfers. I also have a shower chair and a roll-in shower.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be over 18 years old
Must be able to pass a national background check
Must be able to work in the U.S. legally
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Must have reliable transportation
PREFERRED:
Experience in this field
No smokers
CPR and First Aid
No heavy lifting, but the position requires bending, squatting, and pulling.
